Pumpkin Everything

We totally didn’t mean to make only orange foods this weekend… it was just a thing that happened.  Seriously, watch my baking boyfriend make this adorable pumpkin dinner rolls, then comment for the recipe, ’cause I know you want it for your Thanksgiving spread!

October, Over and Out

IMG_3499.JPG

Happy Halloween, guys!  I can’t believe how fast this year is going by.  I mean, tomorrow basically starts the holiday season, doesn’t it?

It seemed like October flew by!  I did enjoy:

[1] A weekend trip [2] apple picking in New York [3] fall foliage with a side of a matching Vespa [4] discovering this little bridge has been named for David Ortiz [5] an awesome pokémon card pull! [6] some spooky weather around my favorite public art installation [7] a quick trip to Nashville [8] tons of jack-o-lanterns (stay tuned for this vlog!) [9] and reading again!  I finished Magonia yesterday and absolutely loved it.

I’m psyched for November, which is my favorite month because it means my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, is coming!  Also, SUN & MOON is just 18 days away!  What are you looking forward to in November?

Autumn B&BW Haul

IMG_3179.JPG

This is a candle haul in disguise, basically.  Full disclosure: I bought this all in September on a 90 degree day (it could’ve been late August for all I remember) and am just getting around to sharing it with you!  Better late than never.

Bath & Body works just happened to have 2 for $24 3-wick candles when I went in looking for more wallflower refills.  Everyone knows this is the best time to buy these babies!  I came home with 4 wallflower refills and 5 candles, all delightfully autumn-scented.

For the wallflowers, I selected: Sweater Weather, which I bought in candle form last year, Autumn Sky, a candle contender, Harvest Gathering, and Flannel!

The candles I chose this year were:

Flannel: Yes, I doubled-down on the Flannel.  I decided too late last year I wanted this scent, so I knew I wanted to pick it up this year.  This is a pretty masculine scent; even my boyfriend loves it.

Pumpkin French Toast: Ugh, they had such cute packaging this year!  Pumpkin French Toast was one of their new pumpkin combinations.  Since I love pumpkin and boyfriend loves maple, this was obviously coming home with me.

Pumpkin Woods: Another new pumpkin scent and another adorable package!  I love, love, love woodsy scents.  This can easily transition into a holiday scent.

Cider Lane: This smells exactly like a caramel apple!  The apple is actually pretty subtle, so it really just smells like the caramel on a caramel apple.  It might not be quite cider to me, but it does conjure up images of fall.

Woodland Forest: This is that beautiful marble jar you see above.  It was not part of the 2 for $24 deal, (otherwise I’d have six candles!) in fact, it was a bit more expensive than a regular 3-wick candle.  These marble jars were so beautiful I would’ve bought them all, had it not been for the price!  Woodland Forest smells like magic to me, an enchanted, light scent that I can burn all year round!

I know I’m late, but what are your go-to autumn scents?

Hello October

Okay guys, I’m not going to lie… the last two weeks of my life have felt like a full month.  I let September get away from me a little bit.  It was a hard adjustment from our adventure/travel/vacation life to some big chances (for the better!) at work.  I can’t say I’m too upset to be in the season of pumpkin everything!

[1] the last of our summer travels. [2] wedding finest! [3] back to Chinatown to eat all of the things. [4] Boston’s nice too– and the good side of the Longfellow is open again! [5] dinner in Brookline for my brother’s 25th birthday. [6] a PSL on the autumnal equinox. [7] the morning crew!  love working blocks away from my bestie & boyfriend. [8] public art always gets me. [9] pumpkins!

What are you most excited about in October?

Octobergrams!

November already?!  November is my favorite month because Thanksgiving is coming!  Sadly, my favorite season is flying by.  Here are the ‘gram-worthy moments from October:

[1] For a while, it was cool enough to be sweater weather!  This week, New England is experiencing Indian summer.  Woof. [2] Fall foliage in the suburbs– you can’t beat it! [3] I’ve been loving Pac Sun tees.  Check out my latest favorites video to see more! [4] Sunset over the Chestnut Hill reservoir… not a bad view! [5] I battled sickness basically all of October.  Good thing I had a seasonally appropriate cup from which to drink tea! [6] Pumpkin patch love at Pakeen Farms! [7] I touched up the blonde; I’m committed! [8] I took my first trip to Ogawa Coffee– Boston is the first US location, but there are 35 around Kyoto, Japan!  This caramel latte was delicious and went well with Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling. [9] Halloween Chanel-o-ween!  Scream Queens with Celina.

I also put up a surprise new video over the weekend, so be sure to check out & subscribe to my Youtube channel!

Are you lamenting the flight of autumn, or already looking forward to the holiday season?!  I’m a little bit in the middle.  Let me know!

Scream Queens: Choose a Side of the Eiffel Tower

IMG_2105

In this week’s Scream Queens, Chanel’s haunted pumpkin patch is in action… whether or not Dean Munch allowed it.  It turns into Orange is the New Black for a hot second, and we learn A LOT.  Here are my thoughts:

  • I loved the creepy theme this week!  So cool.
  • Chad Radwell turns out to be more enjoyable than I could have ever predicted.  His speech is kind of on point, eh?  And I love that everyone including Dean Munch and Denise Hemphill is sleeping with him.
  • Are we supposed to hate Grace, you guys?  And her dad?  Their interactions are always so weird, especially when she walked in on him and Gigi.  They just don’t seem to react normally to things like human beings would.
  • Lea Michele continues to be excellent and her character, Hester, continues to play everyone around her.  I think she called the cops on Chanel.  I’m glad Chanel wasn’t in jail long, though.
  • I knew Zayday wasn’t dead, but I couldn’t guess that the devil had a thing for her… or at least, one of the devils.
  • It was obvious to me that Gigi helped the devil escape.  It was nice to see a theory validated so quickly as well!
  • How perfect was that Shining-replica pumpkin patch maze with artisanal pumpkins and snow drifts?  It was quite lovely, honestly!  Cool scene all-around.
