In a show that’s already hard to keep track of, the season premiere of the final season of Orphan Black feels disorienting. You may vaguely remember an island, a violent fight between Sarah & Rachel, and a roughly 170-year-old Westmorland. That’s about as far as I got.
So, welcome to Revival, the village of the cherry-picked genetically superior. Cosima is stranded here, her reunion with Delphine cut short, greeted instead by a girl named Mud. Sarah painstakingly made her way to Cosima to rescue her, but Cosima’s interest in science keeps her here. Rachel has found a role with Westmoreland and the village. She is just as invested as Cosima, she says, as she offers to give her the treatment she fought for. Charlotte is here too. Sarah tries to leave, finally, but is captured.
Meanwhile, the Hendrixes and Helene are living the trapping life in the woods. Art is assigned a new partner, Engers, who knows what he’s up to… neolution has infiltrated the police. Engers & co. captures Alison, though Donnie makes it away. Helena comes to his rescue and comes away with an arrow sticking out of her stomach. I hope her babies are okay!
There’s also Mr. Frontenac, who tells Felix there are no factions anymore. I’m really not so sure of that, and we have no idea who he is. All I know is:
- the Clone Club is better together, and they’re very far apart at this moment
- Kira is still spooky, and we should finally be getting answers to that
Hopefully next week will feel more familiar! Thoughts as we start the final season?
