Day: November 4, 2016

Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald

The Countdown to Pokémon Sun & Moon is on.  From now until November 18th, I’m taking a nostalgic walk through the Pokémon main series releases until the beautiful day I get my hands on the next Pokémon adventure!

Generation 3 is my favorite generation.  Thank goodness they remade Ruby and Sapphire because these games were amazing!!  I’m cheating a little and talking about Emerald here too, though technically it came out after the generation 1 remakes.  They go together, though!  I miss this trinity format.

There was, for me, just so much to love about Hoenn.  The geography was entirely different than what we’ve seen before.  There was a floating town, an underwater city, and even one in the trees!  You could lounge in hot springs or dive into the sea.  Hoenn, plus some awesome new Pokémon, made this generation something special to me.  OH, and Pokémon Contests!

Now for my tag!

Which Version: Sapphire!  I hyped this game so much, that I managed to get my brother back into it after he skipped gen 2; he played Ruby.  Emerald, like Crystal before it, really knocked my socks off.

Played On: Pink Gameboy Advance.  My brother had a sick red SP, that I’ve unsuccessfully tried to steal many times.

Starter Pokémon: Torchic!

Favorite Town: Pacifidlog, in all its simplicity, was just too cool a concept not to be my favorite.  I love Slateport too, though.

Favorite Gym Leader: Roxanne, for the nostalgia of facing off against Rock types for your first badge if not anything else

Favorite Pokémon: Ludicolo, Flygon, Roselia, Altaria, Luvdisc, Lunatone, Solrock.

Favorite Legendary: Rayquaza!

Proudest Moment: Winning all the contests!  Also, discovering, evolutions, and catching Rayquaza!

Most Embarrassing Moment: How much time I spent berry tending and blending.

Master Ball Used On: Kyogre in Sapphire, Rayquaza in Emerald.  By the time I played Ruby, I still gave in and used it on Groudon.

Now I want to hear from you!  Join me in my countdown and tell me about your days playing generation 3’s main games!
